E-Z-GO serial number lookup

Find the year from your E-Z-GO manufacturer code. The tool helps distinguish it from the separate serial number.

For the supported 1983+ format: a letter followed by 3 or 4 digits. The separate 6–7 digit serial does not use this rule.

Where to look: Look for the manufacturer/date code beside the serial on the cart label. Older plates are in or below the passenger glove box; newer locations vary by model.

The serial and manufacturer code are different

Older E-Z-GO labels commonly carry a long serial and a shorter manufacturer code. Enter the short code here. For example, Vintage Golf Cart Parts records manufacturer code B1890 with serial 576966: the code’s final 90 identifies 1990. Entering 576966 alone cannot apply that rule.

    Supported later date-code format

The decoder accepts a letter followed by three or four digits for supported model years from 1983 onward. It reads only the final two digits. H1284 → 1984 and J0195 → 1995 are published dealer examples. The source guides agree on the suffix rule for these later codes.

It does not guess a month from the letter or identify a TXT, RXV or Marathon from the year alone. Different vehicles can share a year; use the cart’s model information when buying parts.

    Finding the manufacturer code

Copy the line marked manufacturer code or date code, not a component number. Some newer labels use a different format; follow the printed information or ask E-Z-GO customer care.

Why are early E-Z-GO codes excluded?

Published guides disagree about the transition from a year at the beginning to a year at the end. Vintage Golf Cart Parts documents early cart examples that conflict with a blanket “last two digits” rule. To avoid silently assigning a wrong year, the tool leaves those early formats undecoded.

What if I only have a numeric serial?

Find the accompanying date/manufacturer code or ask E-Z-GO to check its records. Do not use the last two digits of a standalone serial as a year. A VIN or PIN is also outside this lookup’s supported format.
