Club Car serial number lookup

Read the model year and production-week code from your Club Car serial. Works with the modern format used since 1981.

Include the model letters, four date digits and six sequence digits.

Where to look: Look below the passenger cup holder or dashboard, or above the pedals. Use the cart label, not the battery or motor number.

How to read a Club Car serial number

For PH0901-123456, PH is the model prefix, 09 gives the 2009 model year, 01 is the production-week code, and 123456 distinguishes the individual vehicle. Club Car publishes this example; authorized dealer Jeffrey Allen independently explains the same year and week.

The hyphen may be omitted. Some prefixes have one letter, such as A; others have two. The decoder reads the date fields after those letters rather than assuming they always occupy the same positions.

    Where is the serial number?

Look for the barcode label below the passenger-side cup holder or above the accelerator/brake area. Older carts may have the plaque along the dashboard’s lower edge. Use the vehicle serial, not a number on a replacement battery.

    Selected Club Car model prefixes

These broad descriptions follow Club Car’s directory. Its “Precedent DS” entries are shortened here to DS. A prefix is not a complete specification or a guarantee of original equipment.

Does production week 01 mean January?

Not necessarily. The label describes a production week within the manufacturer’s model-year system. This lookup deliberately leaves it as a week code and does not invent a calendar date.

What if the prefix is missing from the list?

The date fields may still match. The result will state that the model is outside our selected list and link to the full official directory. The tool does not authenticate the serial.

    Older carts and road-legal VINs

Pre-1981 formats are not supported. A road-legal vehicle may also carry a VIN; that is separate from this serial-number decoder. For an unreadable label or an unsupported format, ask Club Car or its dealer to identify the vehicle.
